Educational Content Disclaimer
The case studies, scenarios, characters, organizations, dialogue, documents, names, and events presented throughout the Line and Letter Training Library are works of fiction created solely for educational and training purposes. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or deceased, employers, organizations, businesses, events, or real-world situations is purely coincidental and unintentional.

Scenario outcomes and character decisions are grounded in established Human Resources best practices, applicable employment laws, and professional standards developed through years of HR experience. While the characters, situations, and organizations depicted are entirely fictional, the lessons, frameworks, and guidance embedded within each scenario reflect real-world HR principles. Because HR laws and workplace dynamics vary by jurisdiction, industry, and employer size, outcomes that are appropriate in one context may differ in another, and learners are encouraged to consider how these principles apply within their specific environment.

Learners are strongly encouraged to consult qualified legal counsel and review applicable federal, state, and local employment law before applying any concepts, frameworks, or approaches presented in this platform to actual workplace situations.

Sample documents, templates, forms, and written correspondence included within the platform, including but not limited to disciplinary documentation, investigation notes, and performance improvement plans, are illustrative examples created for training purposes only. They should not be used in actual employment situations without independent legal review and customization by a qualified professional.

Examination scores, feedback, and performance results generated through the Examination Lab are intended for self-assessment and learning purposes only. They do not constitute professional certification, verified competency, licensure, or qualification of any kind and should not be represented as such to any employer, licensing body, or professional organization.

Nothing contained within the Line and Letter Training Library constitutes legal advice, and use of this platform does not create an attorney-client relationship or any other professional advisory relationship. Users should not rely on platform content as a substitute for guidance from a licensed attorney, HR consultant, or other qualified professional.
Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: August 16, 2026

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website lineandlettertraininglibrary.com (the "Site") and all courses, case studies, examinations, micro-learning sessions, training tools, guides, precedent case materials, and related content offered through the Site (collectively, the "Platform" or "Services"), operated by Line and Letter Training Library ("Line and Letter," "we," "us," or "our"), a business based in Hope Mills, North Carolina.

By registering for Site Member Access, purchasing a Mastery Track course, or otherwise using the Platform, you ("you," "User," or "Member") agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Refund Policy, and any Paper Trail terms incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Platform.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to purchase or use the Platform. By using the Platform, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you are using the Platform for lawful, professional-development purposes.

2. Description of the Platform
Line and Letter is a scenario-based professional development library designed for human resources practitioners and related professionals. Content is organized into eight training categories: Documentation Practices, Leadership Skills, Risk Awareness, Investigation Practices, HR Language Skills, Professional Development, Leave & Accommodation Practices, and Policy Interpretation.

The Platform offers two tiers of access: (a) Site Member Access, a free membership tier, and (b) Mastery Track, a paid, per-course enrollment feature. Each course within a Mastery Track may include multiple learning tools, which can include Case Studies, Examinations, Micro-Learning Sessions, Training Tools & Guides, and Precedent Cases, and may culminate in a capstone assessment.

The Platform is educational and skills-based in nature. It is not, and should not be treated as, a substitute for individualized legal, employment law, or professional advice. See Section 8 (Disclaimers) below.

3. Access Tiers: Site Member Access and Mastery Track

3.1 Site Member Access (Free)
Site Member Access is a free membership tier available upon registration on the Site. Site Member Access provides access to all launch materials designated as part of the free tier at the time you register. Line and Letter reserves the right to add, remove, modify, or limit which materials are included in Site Member Access at any time and at its sole discretion, including materials that were available under Site Member Access at launch.

Site Member Access does not include enrollment in any Mastery Track course, and does not itself confer any certificate of completion.

3.2 Mastery Track (Paid, Per-Course)
Mastery Track allows Members to purchase enrollment in individual courses on a per-course basis. Each Mastery Track course is offered as either a 30-day or a 90-day enrollment, as specified on the course listing at the time of purchase (the "Enrollment Window").

Your access to a purchased Mastery Track course begins upon enrollment and continues only through the end of that course's Enrollment Window. Once the Enrollment Window closes, your access to that course's content, tools, and any in-progress assessments ends, whether or not you have completed the course, unless we expressly state otherwise on the course listing or you purchase an extension or re-enrollment where offered. It is your responsibility to complete a course within its stated Enrollment Window.

Enrollment Windows do not pause or extend automatically for inactivity, technical issues on your end, or personal circumstances. If you believe a technical issue on our end affected your ability to access a course during its Enrollment Window, contact us promptly at the information in Section 14 so we can investigate.

3.3 Pricing and Payment
All prices are listed in U.S. dollars and are subject to change at any time without notice; however, changes will not affect Mastery Track enrollments you have already purchased. Payment is processed through the Site's designated third-party payment processor at the time of purchase. You are responsible for providing accurate billing information and for all charges incurred under your account.

3.4 Platform Availability
While we intend to operate the Platform indefinitely, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or permanent availability. If Line and Letter discontinues the Platform, we will make commercially reasonable efforts to notify Members in advance of the shutdown date and to honor any Mastery Track Enrollment Windows already in progress where feasible.

4. Refunds
Refund eligibility, timeframes, and procedures for Mastery Track purchases are governed by our separate Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference and available on the Site. By completing a Mastery Track purchase, you acknowledge that you have reviewed the Refund Policy. Because Mastery Track enrollment is time-limited to a 30-day or 90-day Enrollment Window, we encourage you to review the Refund Policy's eligibility windows before purchasing, as they may run concurrently with your course access.

5. License and Intellectual Property

5.1 Ownership
All content on the Platform; including but not limited to course materials, case studies, examinations, micro-learning sessions, training tools and guides, precedent case materials, lexicon and glossary content, videos, audio, graphics, the Line and Letter name, logo, and brand assets; is the property of Line and Letter or its licensors and is protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

5.2 Limited License
Upon registration or purchase, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to access and use Site Member Access content, or your enrolled Mastery Track course content during its Enrollment Window, for your own personal or internal professional development. This license does not permit you to:

-
Reproduce, distribute, resell, sublicense, or share your account credentials or purchased content with any third party;
-
Use the content to create a competing product, training program, or publication;
-

-
Use the Line and Letter name, logo, certificates of completion, or brand assets to imply endorsement, affiliation, or accreditation without our prior written consent;
-
Use automated means (including scraping, bots, or crawlers) to access or copy content from the Platform.
Certificates of completion issued through the Examination Lab or capstone assessments reflect completion of Line and Letter training content only and do not constitute a professional license, certification, or accreditation from any governmental or third-party accrediting body.

6. User Accounts and Conduct
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login information and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

You agree not to:
-
Provide false information when creating an account or making a purchase;
-
Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable local, state, or federal law;
-
Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Platform or its security features;
-
Harass, threaten, or abuse other users or Line and Letter staff in any community, comment, or support feature.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any Member who violates these Terms, without refund, except as required by our Refund Policy or applicable law.

7. Scenario-Based Content
The Platform's case studies, examinations, precedent cases, and scenario-based lessons feature fictional employees, fictional companies, and fictional fact patterns created for educational purposes. Any resemblance to actual persons, employers, or events is coincidental unless otherwise stated. Scenario content reflects illustrative HR practices and should not be interpreted as a guarantee of a particular legal outcome in any real-world situation.

8. Disclaimers

8.3 "As Is" Basis
The Platform and all content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Line and Letter, its founder, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Platform, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to Line and Letter in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Line and Letter and its founder, employees, and contractors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

11. Modifications to the Platform and Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform, including individual Mastery Track courses, Site Member Access materials, or learning tools, at any time. We may also revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on the Site with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

12.1 Governing Law
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to the Platform shall be governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

12.2 Binding Arbitration
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered in Cumberland County, North Carolina, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court where permitted. The arbitration shall be conducted on an individual basis, and you waive any right to participate in a class, collective, or representative action.

12.3 Venue
To the extent any dispute is not subject to arbitration, exclusive venue shall lie in the state or federal courts located in Cumberland County, North Carolina, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

13.3 No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.
